About the Chef
While in school working towards his major in finance at Fairfield University in Connecticut, Jeremy developed a passion for art, utilizing food as his outlet. It was spurred on by the increasingly popular Food Network and fueled by a part time job he took at the best Italian restaurant in town. After completing his second year at the restaurant, where he now was in charge of the kitchen, and his four year college career, he took a job on Wall Street.
Here is where he learned one of many important life lessons: follow your passion, not the money!
After six months in the financial world, Jeremy returned to his passion and entered culinary school part-time and accepted a full-time job at ZOE, a long time SOHO staple known for creative food with an Asian flare. One year later, Jeremy won the MAYTAG ACCELLIS culinary competition in New York and was escorted to Napa Valley where he placed in the top 10 among national finalists. Chef Charlie Trotter, who was a judge at the competition, was so impressed, he offered Jeremy an externship at his acclaimed restaurant, Charlie Trotter's in Chicago.
Upon his return to NYC, Jeremy accepted a position at Restaurant Daniel where his desire for working at the best restaurant was satisfied. That year, Restaurant Daniel earned four stars from the New York Times and has held onto them to date.
During Jeremy's three years at Daniel, he fast tracked his way through every position in the kitchen. Following his progression, Daniel sent Jeremy to Europe for 6 months, where he worked in Spain (Arzak in San Sebastian) and France (Triosgros in Roanne and Guy Savoy in Paris).
Upon return to the States, Jeremy held the highly coveted position, Saucier, at Restaurant Daniel. One year later, Jeremy moved to Palm Beach to assist in the early stages of Daniel's Cafe Boulud. It was here in South Florida, that Jeremy recognized the remarkable demand for personal chef services. In August of 2004, Jeremy ventured out on his own and created, My1Chef, a personal chef service that tends to client's culinary needs. Whether it is a dinner party, daily prepared meals or travel services, Jeremy creates individual, personalized menus and experiences with his food. Beginning in Palm Beach, Jeremy now services private clients throughout the United States and Europe.
In 2007, Jeremy launched myfreshchef.com, market-inspired meals delivered daily throughout Palm Beach County. Under Jeremy's direction, a team of chefs prepare client-specific meals with fresh, local ingredients for an affordable price.
Currently, Jeremy is focusing on servicing private clients with his creative market inspired meals, whether it is a casual luncheon or a seven course tasting dinner. In addition, his passion for food has transitioned him into the television industry. Chef Jeremy has appeared on Designing Spaces, Living Today, and makes frequent "Fresh Chef" appearances on Lifetime Network. He can also be seen on local South Florida networks such as CBS12, NBC-WPTV, and ABC-WPBF. Jeremy loves explaining his fresh perspective on food and showing viewers techniques with fresh ingredients, that will make them a star in the kitchen.
